This year, we are raising funds to purchase educational toys and books to support the proper development of the children served in our program.

As technology has progressed, toys have quickly been replaced with mobile media devices, such as cellphones and tablets. A 2017 study revealed that 46% of children under the age of 2 years old have used a mobile media device at least once. Another study revealed that 44% of children in low-income areas, less than 1-year-old, use a mobile media device daily and 30% own their own device by the age of 2.

 Studies have shown that increased use of mobile media devices is associated with delays in development in children. Children learn more effectively and efficiently when they experience it in real-time, with real people and things.

 About Us 

Help Me Grow Home Visiting is a voluntary family support program for pregnant women, parents, or caregivers of children 0-3 yrs. We realize that all parents want the best for their babies and by participating in the program, families promote and support the development and healthy growth of their children. Our caring and professional home visitors will partner with parents to access the information and resources that can support the physical and emotional health of the children and the entire family. Our program is offered in Cuyahoga, Lorain, Summit, Lake, Geauga, Wayne, Ashland, and Medina counties. 

 Catholic Charities Home Visiting is affiliated with the Healthy Families America National Model who has worked toward a singular vision: All children receive nurturing care from their family that leads to a healthy, long, and successful life. In order to accomplish this, Help Me Grow Home Visiting has set the following four program goals: Improve maternal and child health; Prevent child abuse and neglect; Encourage positive parenting; Promote child development and school readiness.
