CYO Athletics

Our We Give Catholic Goal is $25,000 to continue serving children and families in 2024!  Your contribution is a blessing that helps us build the CYO legacy of faith which is over 86 years strong!

CYO inspires young people to know God, love God and serve God through athletics.  In 2023, we began our CYO Cross Initiative to help us accomplish our mission! We have given all of our coaches small wooden crosses and have asked them to give each athlete on their team a Cross when they notice a moment of sacrifice or gratitude! We call these moments “God Sightings” and it is so important for us to recognize these moments as they build faith, character and the dignity of person in CYO. Jesus made a sacrifice for you and me! When we make a sacrifice for others we are doing what Jesus taught us to do by loving our neighbors as ourselves! Through sacrifice and gratitude we are all Champions!

Making special memories that will last a lifetime is integral part of the CYO experience for children. 20,630 children played 11 CYO sports which includes Tennis in 8 counties last year!  The heart of CYO is FUN, FRIENDS, FAMILY, and FAITH!!  

CYO has given away more than $550,000 to CYO programs and families in need through the Bishop Roger Gries Good Shepherd Fund. Your continued generosity makes that happen. Children cherish feeling welcome and belonging to a team!  Your contributions help children have this positive experience.

CYO families that struggle financially need assistance to purchase game uniforms, t-shirt, shorts, socks, and shoes. Your contribution through We Give Catholic helps us to provide these necessities to CYO programs that are in need. 

CYO has never turned a child away due to a lack of financial resources in our 86 years of existence. Your We Give Catholic contribution will ensure that our Member CYO programs don’t turn away any children either. Your support continues to help many children.

CYO helps our members start sports programs and we provide scholarships to help increase girls sports teams.  So that all children have opportunities to play, we help our members start sport programs at their parish or school.  We also help our members by providing scholarships to increase girls sports teams. 

CYO is part of the Catholic Charities family of programs and services. CYO teaches children our Catholic Charities values – Dignity of Person, Concern for the Poor, Justice, Hope, and Stewardship. CYO inspires young people to know God, to love God, and to serve God through athletics!

CYO received the University of Notre Dame National Champion for Children Award as one of the best youth sports programs in the United States!  Your support enables us to continue our cross initiative, help our members start sports programs, strengthens our CYO Coaches Development Programs, our CYO Football Safety Program, our CYO Officials Academy, our sports programs and CYO Championship Tournaments!

YOUR DONATION TODAY IS INSTRUMENTAL	IN GIVING THESE OPPORTUNITIES TO CHILDREN!
$100 Provides crosses and cards for children in our Cross Initiative!	$250 Provides registration fees for 5 children to participate in CYO Track or Cross Country.
$500 Provides volleyball and supplies for 2 CYO Volleyball Teams.	$1000 Provides Certification and Training for 35 CYO Coaches for all sports.
