CYO Athletics

Our 2024 We Give Catholic Goal is $27,000. Your contribution is building our CYO legacy.

CYO inspires young people to know God, love God and serve God through athletics.  CYO coaches present a Cross to team members to highlight a moment of sacrifice or gratitude. These “God Sightings” are small opportunities to uphold the faith, character and dignity of every person. This year athletes began presenting a cross to their opponents! 

FUN, FRIENDS, FAMILY, and FAITH is at the heart of CYO!!  CYO is in the memory making business, as children, coaches and families form friendships and make special memories that will last a lifetime.  23,425 children played in CYO this year, including newcomers in our welcoming neighborhood children initiative. Your donation helps us grow our CYO programs so that more children can play in 11 CYO sports.   

CYO has given away more than $650,000 to CYO programs and families in need through the Bishop Roger Gries Good Shepherd Fund. Your generosity makes that happen. Children thrive when they feel a sense of belonging on a team! Your contributions help create hope, and serve all children who come to our doors.  

CYO Girls Play and Women Coaches initiatives help CYO Member programs with scholarships to increase girls’ sports teams and promote female coaches. We provided financial assistance for 225 new girl's teams and 225 new women coaches.  

CYO is part of the Catholic Charities family of programs and services. CYO teaches children our Catholic Charities values – Dignity of Person, Concern for the Poor, Justice, Hope, and Stewardship. CYO inspires young people to know God, to love God, and to serve God through athletics!

CYO received the University of Notre Dame National Champion for Children Award as one of the best youth sports programs in the United States!  Your donation enables us to continue our cross & girls initiatives, start sports programs, strengthen our CYO Coaches Development Programs, implement our CYO Football Safety Program, CYO Officials Academy, and CYO Championship Tournaments! 

YOUR DONATION TODAY IS INSTRUMENTAL	IN GIVING THESE OPPORTUNITIES TO CHILDREN!
$100 Provides crosses and cards for children and coaches in our Cross Initiative!	$250 Provides registration fees for 5 children to participate in CYO Track or Cross Country.
$500 Provides ball and supplies for 2 CYO Flag Football Teams.	$1000 Provides Certification Training and Education for 35 CYO Coaches for all sports.
