Help Diocesan Social Action Office raise scholarship money for the Pilgrimage for Justice Immersion Experience for Summer, 2025. 

The Diocesan Social Action Office is raising scholarship funds for our upcoming “Pilgrimage for Justice” coming June of 2025 during the 2024 #weGIVECATHOLIC campaign. We wish to provide this unique experience to as many people as possible, especially young adults, regardless of their ability to pay.

The Pilgrimage for Justice will provide a faith-based, intercultural and intergenerational immersion experience for the pilgrims to travel together by chartered bus for a week-long journey. The pilgrims will visit cities and significant sites in the Civil Rights movement in the USA. Planned stops include Cincinnati, Montgomery, Memphis, and Atlanta.

The pilgrimage is being coordinated and led by DSAO staff, with support from Clergy and Religious. Pilgrims will have both personal and group opportunities for reflection on the nonviolent struggle of the Civil Rights movement. We will honor the legacy of the courage, discipline and self-sacrifice which the Civil Rights movement required and will consider past and present manifestations of racism and segregation in church and society.

Over the last 50 years the Diocesan Social Action Office has uniquely worked within our 8-county area to build an effort across the Diocese of Cleveland to fight the many injustices that people face. Your gift may be one time, but your contribution to the scholarship fund for the Pilgrimage for Justice Immersion Experience may affect someone for years to come by allowing them to be exposed to this life changing experience.

Every dollar collected through #weGIVECATHOLIC will STAY LOCAL and go directly to the scholarship recipient(s) to defray the cost of the Immersion Experience tuition. Whether it’s $10, $25, $50 or $100, every contribution will go a long way. Your contribution will help empower our unique campaign and remind us of our moral responsibility to educate people, to help understand the root causes of social injustices, and restore dignity to all humans.
