For nearly 70 years, Holy Family Hospice has carried on the sacred mission begun by the Dominican Sisters of Hawthorne and their foundress, Venerable Rose Hawthornedeclared Venerable Servant of God by Pope Francis in 2024. Rose devoted her life to caring for poor and incurable cancer patients, ensuring that no one faced death alone.

What the Sisters began as care for the dying became known in the 1970s as hospice. Today, Holy Family continues that legacy — providing expert clinical care, compassionate support, and the comfort of the sacraments for people with any incurable illness.

"It gives us happiness to know that the Holy Family Home is continuing in our mission and keeping it Catholic.

Mother Marie Edward OP, Dominican sisters of Hawthorne May 9, 2025

This year's gift will support our Window Replacement Project.

The Window Replacement Project represents Phase I of a multi-year effort to replace the original 1956 windows throughout Holy Family Hospice. This phase focuses exclusively on the south elevation, which includes 102 window units. The windows are drafty, inefficient, and failing—compromising patient comfort, energy performance, and building sustainability.

Total Project Cost: $395,214 (tax-exempt)
Funding Secured: 12% committed through leadership gifts

You’re not just supporting a house — you’re sustaining a legacy of the Dominican Sisters of Hawthorne for future generations.
