For 100 years, the Sisters of the Incarnate Word have helped make the face of God present in the lives of children and families in Cleveland.

In 1927, the Sisters arrived in Cleveland with a mission rooted in faith, education, service, and love. In 1935, they opened Incarnate Word Academy and began a legacy of Catholic education that continues to shape generations of students.

Today, we are called to carry that legacy forward.

This Giving Tuesday, we are asking the IWA community to help us raise $100,000 in honor of the Sisters’ 100th anniversary in Cleveland.

Your gift to the IWA Fund is more than a donation to a school. It is an investment in the future of Catholic education and in IWA’s vision to become a global leader in Catholic education.

Through our strategic planning process, members of the IWA community helped identify the opportunities that will shape the Academy for years to come. Our vision is ambitious: to become a global leader in Catholic education while remaining firmly rooted in the mission and charism of the Sisters of the Incarnate Word.

A Healthy IWA Fund Means a Stronger IWA

The IWA Fund is one of the most important ways our community can invest in the Academy's future.

Unlike a gift designated for a specific project, unrestricted support gives IWA the ability to direct resources where they can have the greatest impact. It helps school leadership respond to needs, seize opportunities, and make strategic investments aligned with our long-term vision.

When the IWA Fund is strong, IWA is stronger.

Who We Are

Founded in 1935, Incarnate Word Academy is a Premier Independent Catholic School serving a diverse group of young learners from Preschool to 8th grade. The Sisters of the Incarnate Word built this school with a commitment to delivering a superior education in an environment rooted in faith with the highest ethical values and conduct. Nationally recognized, IWA has grown to become a Model of Educational Excellence. We strive to inspire and support each student to achieve academic and personal success through advanced classes, enriching clubs and team athletics. Our students learn to think for themselves, practice their faith, exercise responsibility and become leaders in a safe, dynamic environment. They commit themselves to their classes and develop a strong work ethic, which prepares them for the next stage of their academic life. With our strong community of families, faculty, staff and Sisters, we guide our students to engage the world with faith, compassion, courage and commitment. Our goal is for our students to become life-long learners, reach their fullest potential, be prepared for the future and be engaged members of our Catholic community and world.

The IWA Classroom Challenge!

We are excited to host the IWA Classroom Challenge once again! Each classroom has a page to raise money for the IWA Day of Giving and earn special prizes for their classrooms. As a part of our $100,000 goal, we hope to encourage some friendly competition amongst our homerooms! Parents, family members and friends should use their student’s classroom link to ensure their donation gets counted in the competition.
