Our chapel
On March 2, 1858, Mary asked Bernadette to go tell the priest to build a church so that people could come to her son in procession. On hundred years later, in 1958, we built our chapel so people can come to the Shrine and be with Jesus. It is now 66 years old and needs some makeover. Thus, our 2024-2025 Project will be the Chapel Renovation. It includes: painting interior walls, refinishing of all the existing pews and kneelers, replacing or reconditioning the exterior doors, stripping and waxing the floor, installing a new carpet runner in the same location, fixing sidewalks and entrances and refurbishing articles used during the Mass. The project's estimated cost is at least $270, 000.
Friends, these are our needs and we turn to you for help! Any amount you can contribute will make a huge impact on our mission here at the Shrine. May the Lord, through his Blessed Mother, reward you a hundred times. Please be assured of our prayers for you and your family.
Come and attend daily Mass with us! Come and spend some quiet time here with our Lord! Come and receive the peace that the world cannot give! Come and give thanks for all that God has done in your life!
Since its opening in 1926, thousands of pilgrims from across the United States and from other countries have come to honor Our Lady and place their petitions before her at Our Lady of Lourdes Shrine. In 2026, we will celebrate its 100th anniversary. For the past hundred years, countless favors, both spiritual and temporal, have been reported as granted through our Blessed Mother Mary. The Shrine is truly a haven of peace in a chaotic world. Our goal is to keep this holy place available to anyone who seeks to be closer to God.
The Shrine is a replica of the Grotto in Lourdes, France. Incorporated into the Grotto are two stones taken from the stone upon which Our Lady appeared in Lourdes. The water from the Grotto flows freely over one of these holy relics. Today, the Shrine, owned and staffed by the Sisters of the Most Holy Trinity, is available for pilgrims and parish/school groups to come for prayer and reflections. The Sisters host retreats and days of recollection as requested.
If you have not been here lately, we hope to see you soon!
