$50,000 Goal

Help us fund new AED's for the Church, Community Center (Gym) and the Rectory Chapel.

While the state does not mandate AEDs for churches, implementing an AED program is considered a best practice for public safety. AEDs cost about between 1,500 and 3,500. to  install and require ongoing maintenance. Through this We Give Catholic Campaign, we wish to purchase and install new AEDs in the Chapel, Church, and Community Center. Currently, we have one outdated unit that is out of warranty for the entire property. An AED is the abbreviation for Automated External Defibrillator, a medical device used to restore a normal heart rhythm during a sudden cardiac arrest. It analyzes the heart's rhythm and, if needed, delivers an electric shock to the chest to help the heart pump again. AEDs are designed for use by the public, even those without medical training, as they provide clear voice and/or visual prompts to guide the user through the process. OH Senate Bill 252, Lindsay’s Law, went into effect in 2017 and requires all schools (public and non-public) to educate parents and student athletes on Sudden Cardiac Arrest before the student can participate in sports activities.
