St. Mary wants to Cool the School!

Yes, it is our long-range objective to install AIR CONDITIONING throughout the entire St. Mary's School building. As many of you know, some parts of the school already have AC; others rely on AC equipment that has reached its end-of-life; and more than a few rooms lack AC altogether. Teachers and students "sweat it out" during the warmer months of fall and spring. And during the summer months, those rooms are all but unusable for programs and activities.

The cost for AC is substantial: $238,000 to perform all the anticipated work.

What does the work entail?

• $115,00 for rooms 105-116 (to upgrade furnaces to include AC)
• $43,000 for rooms 101-104 (to upgrade aging rooftop unit)
• $43,000 for Discovery Hall's (to replace aging rooftop unit)
• $37,000 for room 115 and Lounge (to replace aging rooftop unit)

We're starting this fundraiser with the $8,000 you generously donated at least year's WeGiveCatholic. THANK YOU!

That leaves us with a $230,000 goal.

It's all about your children's comfort, as well as that of our amazing Faculty and Staff. 

Prizes for Class Participation

Do you have a family member enrolled in the school? When processing your contribution use the "Designation" button to select the grade number of your student. If donating by check, write the grade number on the memo line or include a note in your envelope.

The class with the most Designated donations (measured by number of individual donors) gets the Grand Prize! Runner-up class is the class with the highest dollar amount donations!

*** UPDATE *** New prize for Family Participation! As of Monday, December 1 we are offering students an “SMS 2026 Winter Field Day.” We'll take a regular school day in early 2026, cancel all classes, and replace the day’s schedule with games, activities and fun events. Students will be awarded this special Field Day if 50% of school families make a contribution to COOL THE SCHOOL. So use the Donate button above or bring a check at the school/parish office!
