Vincentian Pathways: Preserving Sacred Land, Building for the Future

Vincentian Pathways is a restoration initiative dedicated to preserving and renewing the historic land once home to the Vincentian Sisters of Charity. For generations, the Sisters lived, prayed, served, and worked on this sacred ground, creating a place of peace, reflection, natural beauty, and community.

Today, with Light of Hearts Villa serving as fiduciary agent, Vincentian Pathways is carrying that legacy forward by restoring the gardens, pond, pathways, and surrounding grounds. Our vision is to once again make this treasured property a welcoming place for reflection, walking, gathering, and renewal for the Bedford community and generations to come.

Phase 1: The Vision is Taking Shape

This year brought an exciting milestone: we officially raised the first $50,000 needed to unlock a generous $50,000 matching gift for Vincentian Pathways!

With this incredible momentum behind us, the project is beginning to take shape and now we are focused on moving Phase 1 forward.

The approximately $200,000 first phase focuses on the Lower Gateway and beloved pond area and will:

• Create a new park entrance along the drive between Villa San Bernardo and Light of Hearts Villa
• Add a welcoming park sign, beautiful plantings, and a pedestrian walkway
• Address erosion and improve access roads, including a one-way loop around the pond
• Extend the drive to the southwest portion of the property with critical drainage improvements and beautification

These foundational improvements may not be the most glamorous part of restoring the property, but they are essential. They will create the infrastructure needed to bring the larger vision for the gardens and sacred grounds to life.

This Giving Tuesday, our goal is to raise $10,000 for Vincentian Pathways. Every gift will build upon the incredible momentum already underway and bring us closer to launching Phase 1.
