OK, so maybe this wasn't exactly the kind of comfort Isaiah had in mind... but...

We've all sat in those hard wooden pews. You shift position. You squirm. You might even stand to stretch your legs. You can give your child a side eye, but the truth is, it can be a challenge to sit still and listen attentively when the seat is so uncomfortable.

Back in 2016, Father Tony purchased cushions for a few pews, mindful that some worshipers' physical conditions made it especially hard to endure the flat, wooden seats. Now he'd like to purchase them for all of the pews, while the matching design is still available.

Sure, cushions enhance the comfort for those who attend Mass or other events in the church. Cushions provide essential padding and support, alleviating pressure points on the back, hips and legs. This allows worshipers to focus on the Mass rather than physical discomfort. Cushions also can help dampen the sound of movement, contributing to a more serene and focused worship environment. 

But the cushions also cover some of the wear and tear on 60-year-old pews, at a fraction of the cost to refinish or replace them.

Each cushion costs $600 ~ Our new goal is $55,000! 

Maybe you're thinking: What happens if we build a new church? 

The truth is, a new building, if it happens, could be five or six years away. More than 4,000 Masses will be celebrated over the course of that time. We think it's well worth the investment to be more inviting and hospitable to the parishioners and guests who join us. 

With your support of this campaign, we can have them in time for Christmas! 

We are thrilled to report that we met our original $35,000 goal, so we raised our target to $55,000 for general church upgrades/improvements and future parish capital projects.
