Our 2024 #weGiveCatholic Giving Day Goals
$35K for 35 Years

As we celebrate the close of 2024, marking the 35th anniversary of Light of Hearts Villa, we reflect with deep gratitude on the support that has allowed us to care for our residents with dignity and love. For 35 years, we have kept our founding promise: to provide care, even for those who have outlived their financial resources. The Sister Helen T. Scasny, SC Benevolent Fund makes this possible by supporting residents in need. This year, we are setting a special goal: to raise $35,000 in honor of our 35th anniversary. And thanks to the generosity of Mary Ann Kaminski, in loving memory of her late husband, Deacon Robert Kaminski, every dollar raised will be matched—bringing our total to $70,000! Read more about the Kaminski's connection by clicking the second tab above.

Last year, we placed 2nd out of 54 nonprofits, and this year we’re aiming for the top! The Early Giving phase has officially BEGUN, though the leaderboard will go live only on Giving Tuesday—so join the excitement as we race to the top! By giving before December 3, you will double your impact thanks to the matching gift. Your donation will ensure that no resident is ever turned away due to financial need, and together we can celebrate our 35th anniversary in the most meaningful way.

Make your gift today, and let’s reach our $70,000 goal while climbing the #weGiveCatholic leaderboard!

Why this fundraising initiative is crucial:

The Benevolent Fund at Light of Hearts Villa is a vital lifeline for residents facing financial hardships, ensuring no one is forced to leave due to depleted resources. With 42% of our residents relying on Medicaid, which often falls short of covering care costs, our 2023 shortfall reached $1,125,789. As this need grows, our faith-based mission remains steadfast: to provide compassionate care regardless of financial status. This commitment relies entirely on the generous support of grants, foundations, and individual donors, making community contributions essential to sustaining this promise.
