Managing cancer while couch surfing? Taming out-of-control diabetes at a homeless shelter? Recovering from surgery on the street?

It's hard to imagine managing a serious medical condition or injury while experiencing homelessness, and yet it happens all the time in Northeast Ohio. That's why Joseph and Mary's Home (formerly Joseph's Home) is so critical. Joseph and Mary's Home, a ministry of the Sisters of Charity Health System, provides a nurturing, caring environment for adults without resources who have acute medical needs, helping them heal and achieve independence. 

I am proud to be the vice chair of the board of directors for Joseph and Mary's Home because I know it's an organization that is truly changing lives. The men and women of Joseph and Mary's Home, who were once filled with hopelessness and despair, now look forward to a hopeful and stable future. 

When I think of the most vulnerable members of our community and where my help can be the most meaningful, I think of people who are medically fragile and homeless. Our dollars and support don't just mean temporary housing but also enable Joseph and Mary's Home to provide connections to behavioral health support, develop housing plans, and stabilize medical issues.
